Grand re-opening of Aegean Complex

Grammy nominated Latin Band - The New Swing Sextet

Poughkeepsie - The Aegean Entertainment Complex is a unique place in the Hudson Valley. The two story complex, located at 33 Academy Street in Poughkeepsie, is the dream and vision of owner and area resident Frank Skartados. As a community leader and entrepreneur, Mr. Skartados has opened his facility to the public offering a unique place where guests can have an enjoyable and safe evening of entertainment. Boasting dance halls, plush VIP rooms, state of the art sound and lighting systems, the venue has fashioned architecture and art decor resembling his beautiful native Islands of Greece. For the last decade the complex has been used for a variety of entertainment, catering functions, and private gatherings. A place where the community can come together and appreciate the arts close to home.

As part of the grand re-opening and cultural outreach, Aegean is introducing a series of Latin events in the coming months. The first Latin Debut Showcase will include award winning entertainers. "There are at least 21 Latin American countries, so it’s a perfect opportunity to learn about other countries within our communities" according to Judy Battista of Jubilee Multi-Cultural Arts Presents, who organizes cultural events & activities throughout the Hudson Valley, and who was sought by Aegean to organize the Latin Debut Showcase series. One of the goals of the Latin series is to celebrate our rich Latin heritage through music and dance. "Hosting an event at the Aegean is a cultural experience - where else can we have a Latin event in the midst of Greek columns? As an added plus, the new state of the art floating dance floor will make it a dancer’s Paradise." The Latin debut showcase will be an event that will kick off other Latin events to follow.

The evening will feature the Grammy nominated Latin band the New Swing Sextet, with performances by award winning dancers from the House of Dance, the best of El Sonido with Barry Ruzzi from the Copacabana - and other surprise performers and guests! Master of Ceremonies will be the Latin Jubilee Show host Judy Battista, and Mr. Frank Skartados will be on hand to host, mingle, and enjoy the evening with the guests.

Join us for an elegant evening starting at 8:00 p.m. with a VIP mixer that includes a Latin buffet, complimentary soft drinks, entertainment, and dancing throughout the evening. At 10:00 p.m. doors will open to the general public for entertainment and dancing. For tickets and information call (845) 454-1113.
