Goshen- Orange County Executive Edward A. Diana and Commissioner of Emergency Services Walter Koury announced that the new Orange County Emergency Services Center was activated at 12:01 am Tuesday July 15, 2008.
“This is truly an historic day for Orange County and we believe that this facility will serve to provide future generations of County residents with safe, efficient operations that will greatly enhance our ability to respond to emergency situations and save lives,” Diana said. “I want to commend the Orange County Legislature for their vision, our departments for their perseverance in bringing this facility in on time and under budget and everyone involved in the construction of this truly state of the art facility.”
The Emergency Services Center (ESC) houses the Department of Emergency Services’ Divisions of Emergency Communications (E911), Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Police Liaison, and department administration. It also provides work space for the other county functions of the Office of the Medical Examiner and Geographical Information Services (GIS) that are administered by the departments of Health and Information Services, respectively.
