Rebecca Edwards, Chair of the History Department at Vassar College, and Stephanie Reinert, Historic Preservationist with the Westchester County firm of Stephen Tilly, Architect, joined the Museum Village Board of Trustees this spring. They were elected by the board to fill vacancies.Their election to a three year term will take place at the annual meeting
of the Board of Trustees in September.
Ms. Edwards recent publication with Oxford University Press, New Spirits 1865-1905, makes her a perfect candidate for the board of this collection of eclectic 19th century artifacts. Ms Reinert, who lives in Peekskill, has leant her talents to museums and historic sites throughout the Hudson Valley and is coordinating a building survey at Museum Village. These new trustees reflect the broader geographic region served by the museum, which welcomes student field trips from as far as Connecticut, New York City, and the Albany area.
The spirit of volunteerism does not stop at the Board of Trustees. While trustees volunteer in a range of capacities, from program planning to fundraising, the museum counts on many others and eagerly invites young and old to participate in the volunteer programs this summer. Some workers come in for a weekend and others come in on a regular scheduled basis.
