POUGHKEEPSIE - Family Services Inc. has announced that Amanda Moody, Community and Online organizer at Planned Parenthood Mid-Hudson Valley (PPMHV), has joined the Agency’s Board of Directors. CEO of Family Services, Brian Doyle remarked that "Amanda’s involvement in the Family Services Board enables her to represent the voices of our partner agencies and to highlight the needs of the Family Partnership Center’s many programs and the people they serve."
Moody began her work with PPMHV, in the summer of 2012, as a Public Affairs and Communications intern in Beacon, NY, while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Women’s Studies at Vassar College. She has since graduated from Vassar College in 2013, and has continued her work with PPMHV in Poughkeepsie both through her management of PPMHV’s social media presence and campaigns and through her active participation in PPMHV’s community organizing efforts As such, Moody brings to the Board a host of experience and a legacy of commitment to the Poughkeepsie and larger Hudson Valley communities. Beyond her work at PPMHV, Moody has further exhibited her commitment to an improved quality of life for the Poughkeepsie community through her engagement with the Catherine Street Community Center and the River Valley Repertory Theatre Company. Moody currently resides in Poughkeepsie.
