NEWBURGH - The newly formed Newburgh Professional & Business Association (NPBA) will hold its Membership Kickoff Reception on Wednesday, May 15th, 5:30 p.m., at the Karpeles Manuscript Museum, 94 Broadway. The NPBA originated from Mayor Kennedy’s 2012 Community Action Teams Initiative.
After hosting a community breakfast meeting where a cross -section of business owners were able to share common concerns, an idea developed to organize a City of Newburgh business association. With the election of a committed board of directors, the Newburgh Professional & Business Association was born.
Driven by its mission "to promote commerce and tourism in the City of Newburgh by unifying the efforts of local businesses and related organizations through a common voice", the NPBA has established monthly community meetings, provided a forum for business and economic development, and launched a Winter Holiday Decorating Contest. Plans are being cultivated to strengthen and showcase local business.
The NPBA is seeking members who are local business owners, entrepreneurs, community leaders and interested individuals committed to supporting business and building community.
The May 15th Membership Kickoff Reception is open to the public. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or 845-561-3556.
