GOSHEN – Orange County Executive Edward A. Diana and Department of Public Works Commissioner Charles W. Lee are proud to congratulate Orange County Airport Director of Aviation Grant Sussey on his recent recognition by the Federal Aviation Administration’s Eastern Region at their 29th annual Extraordinary Service Awards ceremony.
Sussey was noted for being a consummate professional when an aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Orange County Airport. He immediately notified the FAA and local authorities, provided critical information regarding the crash circumstances, equipment to clear a path through the thickets to access the aircraft, and video evidence to aid in the investigation.
The FAA Eastern region includes more than 2,500 airports in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia.
“We are exceptionally proud of Grant, his aviation expertise, and management of Orange County Airport. He and his team have a commitment to maintaining the safety and security of the airport for all who use it,” said County Executive Diana. “His recognition by the FAA for being an outstanding team player is well-deserved.” |
